Cátia Severino is a post-doc researcher at the Center of Linguistic of the University of Lisbon. She completed her PHD in Portuguese Linguistics, with a thesis entitled "Perception of phrasal prosody in the acquisition of European Portuguese". Her work is focuses on language acquisition and language development, and on the role of prosody and intonation in early language processing. Currently she is working at project P2LINK: The Perception-Production Link in Early Infancy: A language acquisition oral-motor intervention study, financed by FCT-Fundação Ciência e Tecnologia. In addition to this project, she have contributed to various other funded projects conducted at the Phonetics and Phonology Lab & Lisbon Baby Lab. Through these projects, she has gained extensive experience and expertise in experimental methods such as behavioural, eye-tracking, EEG and ultrasound, as well as working with both typically developing and atypically developing infant and child populations. Moreover, as a registered user of GMDS-ER and Griffiths III by ARICD - Association for Research in Infant & Child Development and having attended a post-graduation course in Neurodevelopmental Disorders at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, she possesses a comprehensive understanding of developmental assessment tools and specialized training in addressing neurodevelopmental challenges in children. The undertaken work as lead to numerous significant outcomes, including co-authorship in esteemed scientific publications featured in international journals like First Language, IBRO Neuroscience Reports, International Journal of Language and Communication Disorders, Brain Sciences, and Frontiers in Psychology. Within the realm of developmental assessment tools, she actively participated in the adaptation and validation of the European Portuguese MacArthur-Bates Communicative Development Inventories Short forms, the European Portuguese Communication and Symbolic Behaviour Scales Developmental Profile™ (CSBS DP™), and Proso-Quest, a parental on prosodic skills. Her primary areas of interest encompass: Prosodic and Intonational Phonology; Language Acquisition; Language Development; Neurodevelopment of infants and children; coupled with a focus on Experimental Linguistics.
