Ana Rita Quito Curto

Ana Curto holds a PhD in Biological Anthropology from the University of Kent (2019), supported by the University of Kent 50th Anniversary Research Scholarship. Currently, she has a fellowship funded by FCT (2020.02110.CEECIND) to conduct her research at the HERCULES Laboratory, University of Évora. Ana also leads the InOsteo project (2022.03576.PTDC) and is part of the team of the Holy Bodies project (2022.01486.PTDC), both funded by FCT. She published 9 scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals, 1 book chapter and 1 science communication book. She also presented podium communications and posters at several international conferences. Ana's accolades include winning the 2019/2020 Scientific Text - Young Anthropologists category and securing 2nd place for the Scientific Text Prize from the Portuguese Association for Anthropology in 2018. She supervises a PhD student and previously mentored an MSc student and several BSc students in biological anthropology projects. Recognized as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, by accomplishing the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and learning support in higher education, she taught Foundations of Biological Anthropology, Biology and Human Identity and Forensic Anthropology to BSc and BA students at the University of Kent (UK). Currently, Ana teaches Biological Anthropology, Human Biology and Human Histology II at the University of Évora. She was also an Academic Ambassador at the University of Kent, the University of Évora and the University of Coimbra.
