Ana Cláudia Paiva-Santos obtained her PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology in 2018. She started her pedagogical intervention as Teaching Assistant during her PhD and then became Invited Assistant Professor. Since 2020 she has been Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra (FFUC), where she teaches Pharmaceutical Technology and Nanotechnology. Since 2021, she has been the Responsible Professor of Dermopharmacy and Cosmetics of her faculty and university. She has been ERASMUS+ Outgoing Coordinator since 2020, and the Student Support Office Coordinator of FFUC since 2021. She is invited frequently by the cosmetic industry for skin formulation talks, teaches in Dermocosmetics Specializations, and is a scientific revisor in several Q1 peer-reviewed journals. She is a researcher of REQUIMTE/LAQV, and her research is focused on natural products-based biomimetic nanosized biomaterials for cancer, including pancreatic and skin cancer and also wound healing. She published > 190 papers and 12 book chapters, edited 1 book, in nanotechnology and nanomedicine, and submitted two patent applications, as a result of performed work with several national and international collaborations (h-index 30, > 3,400 citations - Scopus). Most papers were published in high-ranked journals, being positioned above all median scores of the University of Coimbra (90.4% in the top 25 and 55.8% in the top 10 Q1 journals (Scopus)). She is among the World's Top 2% Scientists in 2022 and 2023 released by Stanford University. She has received funding for two FCT Projects in the area of nanotechnology for biomedical applications, one as Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) and another recently as PI; and she is a Researcher of an additional recent Project related to the aforementioned topics. She has experience in supervising BSc, MSc and PhD students.
