Fernanda Branco Belizário is a sociologist, currently integrated at Research Education and Community intervention (Reci), affiliated by Instituto Piaget and Agência Piaget para o Desenvolvimento where also holds a position of programme manager and advocacy officer. She holds a Ph.D in Post Colonialism and Global Citizenship at Centre for Social Studies of University of Coimbra with the thesis: Brazilian Travestis in Southern Europe: subalternity and recognition in the borders of gender and sexuality. She also holds a master in Consumer Studies and degrees in both Social Sciences and Social Communication. Fernanda's main research interests are the intersections between gender, queer theory and post colonialism; the situation of sex work in Europe; LGBT migration and SOGI-based asylum seekers; the construction of the representation of the europeaness by immigrants and asylum seekers.
