João Manuel Olaio Jordão

Jordão is a young graduate engineer passionate about electronics and instrumentation design. Since he was a kid, he always tried to understand how things work, which led him to pursue his enthusiasm for technical and practical applications. With his engineering coursework and project experience, his innovative mindset and affinity for problem-solving, and his history of successful team projects, He believes he is a strong candidate for any challenge. Jordão completed the Integrated Master in Engineering Physics at the University of Coimbra among the top students. His final work comprised the prototyped an instrument for electrical impedance tomography achieving a 19/20 mark. Among his numerous extra-curricular internships and works, he specialized in signal acquisition and instrumentation design, developing strong electronics and programming skills. He began his Ph.D. during his 1.5 years of a research engineer at IPN where he contributed to numerous projects regarding data fusion algorithms, embedded electronics, and artificial intelligence on hardware. He, then, joined CIBIT as a research fellow to improve the existing elastography fast data acquisition software. Currently, he is a PhD candidate at CIBIT working on "Searching for a neurovascular coupling reflex pathway". Which aims to find evidence of a contralateral retinal neurovascular coupling reflex in humans. He also assists in teaching laboratory classes at the Physics Department of the University of Coimbra.
