Caio Vidaurre Nassif Villaça

Caio is a geologist with bachelor degree from UFRJ (Rio de Janeiro/RJ). During bachelor he joined a speleology group (SpeleoRio) affiliated with the Brazilian Society of Speleology to map and study the genesis of caves in the state of Rio de Janeiro. He also collaborated with projects of science communication and conservation of the geological heritage of the coast of the city of Rio de Janeiro and worked in new geological points of interest for tourism. During his bachelor's degree he worked as a professor's assistant for two semesters. Caio received a grant by the University of Rio de Janeiro to developed research at the National Museum (MN / UFRJ) in the project "meteoritos brasileiros", with an emphasis on petrographic and chemical analysis in electronic microprobe, especially in rock meteorites. His work at the National Museum (MN / UFRJ) resulted in the participation of three scientific articles. During his bachelor's degree, he participated in several events where he could present his works. In 2019 he started a master degree in UNICAMP (Campinas/SP) where he developed a semiautomatic method to extract the morphometry of impact craters on the surface of Pluto using Python and QGIS. During this period he participated in an international event to talk about his project. His master's project resulted in a published scientific article. Caio received a grant during the master degree by FAPESP (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo) that also financed all the Project costs (certifacte attached). During this period, he also worked as a volunteer in the ICMBio (Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation) creating maps with QGIS, ArcGIS and Google maps to help with the institute logistics. He is currently a PhD candidate at ULisboa, IGOT
