Sandra Sorte, with a PhD in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from the University of Aveiro (2022), has significantly contributed to her field. Starting as a research fellow at the University of Aveiro's Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies in 2015, she joined the Emissions, Modelling, and Climate Change Research Group. In 2021, this group received an honorable mention in the Engineering research area for the University of Aveiro Researcher Award. Since July 2023, Sandra has been a key Research Center for Risks and Sustainability in Construction (RISCO) member. Her computational fluid dynamics (CFD) expertise has enabled her to analyze complex phenomena like fluid flow, turbulence, and temperature changes. Sandra's work focuses on developing innovative construction methods, particularly radiant flooring systems, to promote sustainable building designs that offer healthy living spaces and optimal thermal comfort. Her professional journey encompasses research, teaching, and technical roles. She has participated in numerous research projects, including six national projects funded by FCT, a P2020 project, a PRR project, and an international project. Sandra's academic output is impressive, with 18 international peer-reviewed papers, two books, and two book chapters. She has been a reviewer for nine international journals and a member of the scientific committee for nine journals, primarily in the first quartile. On the technical front, Sandra has consulted on seven protocols with companies and public entities, producing 14 technical reports. In teaching, she has been involved in various Environmental Engineering courses since 2016, demonstrating a commitment to educating the next generation of environmental engineers.
