Nereida Villagra Hidalgo is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Classical Studies of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. She obtained her PhD in 2012 at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. In 2013 she started working at the Centre for Classical Studies of the University of Lisbon with a post-doctoral scholarship. Her project dealt with mythographical texts reserved in the scholia to Homer, Pindar and Apollonius Rhodius. She has authored several papers on mythography, namely on thextual criticism of mythographical texts and on the intersection of mythography with other genres (epic, lyric, tragedy, philosophy). She has organised several scientific workshops and participated in many international conferences. She is currently co-editing a volume on methodological perspectives on the edition of ancient texts and is preparing the commented edition of the Mythographus Homericus together with Joan Pagès from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
