Scientific expedition

Activity description Institution / Organization
2019/06/15 - 2019/10/15 I completed an internship at Wuhan University of Technology, School of Transportation, as part of the RESET project (REliability and Safety Engineering and Technology for Large Maritime Engineering Systems). During this internship, I had the opportunity to access experimental data and study the effects of high-speed passing ships on moored ships. Wuhan University of Technology School of Transportation, China
2018/03/01 - 2019/04/30 Participated in several experimental studies related to the maneuvering and moored ships as part of the M&M Ships project, a research initiative between the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering (LNEC) and the Centre for Marine Technology and Ocean Engineering (CENTEC), funded by FCT. In this project, I designed the experimental setup and developed the test plans to study the motions and forces acting on a moored ship at Leixões Port in Portugal, under various sea states with irregular waves. Additionally, I designed and planned experiments to Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil Departamento de Hidráulica e Ambiente, Portugal
2008/07/01 - 2008/08/31 I completed internship programs at the Arab Pipelines Company “SUMED” – Sidi Krir, and the training program included : - Lifting and maintenance of service tugs. - Welding of materials. - Piping systems functions, maintenance and repair of pipes. - Maintenance of the hose pipes that transfer oil between tankers and turrets. - Construction and maintenance of oil tanks.
