Ivo Chelo. Graduated in Microbiology and Genetics at the University of Lisbon in 2002 and completed his PhD in 2007 at the same University. Ivo Chelo did postdoctoral research at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC) between 2007 and 2014, and at the University of California Irvine, in 2007. In 2014, he started his research group at the IGC and in 2017 he moved to the University of Lisbon where he currently is an Auxiliary Researcher and Invited Assistant Professor. Since 2014 he has been able to attract research funding with three successful project applications (~ 500kEuros in total) as a PI, one project as a Co-PI and he is a member of two other ongoing projects. He also contributed to the successful application of one postdoctoral fellowship and one postdoctoral research contract (CEEC2019) for members of his lab. He participated in a European research network (COST ACTION - Adhere'n Rise), in which he was also part of the managing committee. He has published 19 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, including high-impact and interdisciplinary journals. He also wrote one book section. He has supervised three postdoctoral researchers, four MSc dissertations (two as co-supervisor), one BSc thesis, and he is currently co-supervising a PhD student. He has participated in several committees, as a jury member to seven PhD and four MSc thesis dissertations, as part of PhD thesis committees, and as an evaluator of research projects, a COST ACTION proposal (rapporteur), and societal prizes.
