Issa Elfergani. Is Research Engineer in Instituto de Telecomunicações Campus Universitário de Santiago. Issa has published around 145 publications, including (80) international conferences, (40) journals, (4) books and (10) book chapters, with over 1017 citations. Issa obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from University of Bradford, UK, in 2008 and 2013, respectively. After his Ph.D. since 2013, he was working as Postdoctoral Researcher and then as Investigador Auxiliar at Instituto de Telecomunicações Aveiro, Portugal within the Mobile Systems group . In 2014 Issa received prestigious FCT fellowship for his postdoctoral research. The evaluation of the first triennium of this scholarship was given an excellent rating by the evaluators. In 2019 Issa received contract ¿Investigador júnior¿. He has been involved in several R&D Projects such as Agile RF Transceivers and Front-Ends for Future Smart Multi-Standard Communications Applications (ARTEMOS), Green Terminals for Next Generation Wireless Systems (GREEN-T), where IT were the coordinator. Best energy efficiency solutions for heterogeneous multi-core communicating systems (BENEFIC) and Coexistence of RF transmissions in the future (CORTIF). In ARTEMOS, he was task leader of Development of tunable filter and resonators¿ and the task leader of ¿Test results and validation¿ in CORTIF project. He has also published two books, ¿Antenna Fundamentals for Legacy Mobile Applications and Beyond¿ (Springer International Publishing AG 2018) and ¿Optical and Wireless Convergence for 5G Networks¿ (Wiley_ IEEE Press., 2019. ISBN: 978-1-119-49158-3). Issa has several years of experience in 3G/4G and 5G radio frequency systems research with particular expertise on several and different antenna structures along with novel approaches in accomplishing a size reduction, low cost, improved bandwidth, gain and efficiency. He is currently conducting an excellent work towards the 4G single and MIMO antennas, including the physical human interaction, and links to health concerns. He is also a senior member of IEEE , IET and AASCIT. Issa is the Guest editor/special issue of Electronics "Recent Technical Developments in Energy-Efficient 5G Mobile Cells (ISSN 2079-9292) and Special Issue on Recent Advances in Engineering Systems Journal (ASTESJ) 2017/2019. Issa was the chair of both 4th and 5th (EERT) International workshops. Since his Ph.D. graduation, Issa has successfully completed the supervision of Bolseiro de Investigação Cientifica with title "UWB antenna design with Fixed and Tuneable Rejected Frequency Bands" for duration of one year, that led to one book chapter, one journal and an IEEE conference paper. Currently, he is co-supervising 1 Ph.D. student and several Master students. He reviewed several good ranked journals such as IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology , IET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation , IEEE Access, Radio engineering Journal , IET-SMT, IET Journal of Engineering . He has been on the technical program committee of a large number of IEEE conferences, including EuCAP (2015,2016,2017,2018,2019,2021,2022), (ITA, 15, 17).
