Miguel Filipe Medeiros Monteiro (ORCID: 0000-0002-9317-0046) is a Chemical Engineer and researcher specializing in sustainable materials and chemical process optimization. He studied at Instituto Superior Técnico and concluded his Master's degree in 2020. His thesis titled "Development of Novel Superplasticizers for the Cement Industry" was conducted under the auspices of c5Lab - Sustainable Construction Materials Association. This work focused on the synthesis and rheological impact of high-performance chemical admixtures, aiming to enhance the workability and durability of concrete while reducing its environmental footprint. He is a Junior Researcher at CERENA (Centre for Natural Resources and the Environment) and has been working at c5Lab since his master's conclusion. His projects include thermochemical conversion: biomass liquefaction for the transformation of lignocellulosic materials into high-value bio-based products, the development and characterization of chemical admixtures for concrete such as superplasticizers through polymer molecular architecture design from 2020 to 2022, CCU catalyst synthesis and characterization for CO2 methanation reactions in 2023 and 2025, and more recently in several studies on more sustainable cementitious materials such as pozzolanics like calcined clays and recycled concrete. His research efforts have culminated in 2 peer-reviewed publications in the high-impact journals "Forests" and "Energies", 2 posters published and presented on Ciência 2025, with an additional 2 manuscripts undergoing the peer-review process.

2025/05/11 - 2025/05/24 ECCSELLENT Transnational Access Call 2024- USY Zeolite testing for H2S and SO2 resistance during methanation reactions. Conventional methanation tests, long-term stability and gas flow reversability tests to study if a flow with sulphorus components would "clean" the sulphur poisoning in the catalysts.
