Iveta Pimentel is an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. She completed the Habilitation in Physics (2016) from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics (1989) from the Department of Theoretical Physics of the University of Oxford, Master in Physics (1986) from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, Degree in Physics (1982) from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. Her main area of research is Condensed Matter Physics, her scientific interests focus on the theoretical study of magnetic systems with disorder and frustration, strongly correlated electron systems and superconductors, quasicrystals and fractals. She also collaborated with a Biophysics research group in the analysis of complexity in brain and heart activity.
