Diogo Santos Pereira, obtained his PhD in economics from the UBI (in consortium with the University of Évora) with a scholarship from the FCT - Portuguese Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education - to develop research on energy poverty, demand-side management, and renewable energy sources accommodation areas. He is a researcher at the Research Center in Business Sciences (NECE-UBI). He has published in international journals, for instance, Energy Policy, Energy, and Utilities Policy
