Mariana Martins, PhD. Mariana Martins is an Assistant Professor at University of Porto (Portugal) since 2018 and a Clinical Psychologist specialized in Reproductive Health. Her research focuses on infertility and involuntary childlessness, medically assisted reproduction and health education and infertility prevention. As main goals she and her team intend to empower couples and fertility patients on how to make conscious reproductive choices or be educated about what going through subfertility or infertility entails. Mariana is actively involved in 5 associations and has coordination functions at the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, the Portuguese Society of Reproductive Medicine, and the Portuguese College of Psychologists. She has been involved in >10 funded research projects as a team member, whereof 1 As principal investigator and >5 as part of the applicant team. Mariana has collaborated with 20 universities or hospitals (12 internacional and 8 national). She has participated in >5 cientificic advisory processes for evaluating applications for project funding, and won 7 research awards. Mariana has published >40 papers in peer-reviewed journals, and 3 chapters in text books. She has > 1500 citations (h-index 18, i-10 index 21), and has presented her work through >100 oral presentations at congresses, whereof >30 as invited speaker. She has organized >30 scientific events or conferences, 10 as the chair of the organizing committee. Mariana has organized >10 workshops and open seminars to the civil society and has directed and produced 2 educational videos on reproductive health and prevention of infertility for the National Digital Health Library of the Portuguese Ministry of Health. Her research has been published in >40 newspapers and she was interviewed >5 times.
