Researcher with 10 years of experience in Computational Fluid Mechanics, Wind Energy and Atmospheric Flows. Has an Msc (2009) and a PhD (in late 2019) in Mechanical Engineering at Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, the later titled "Modelling of Wind Turbine Wakes through an Actuator Disk". He has 5 peer reviewed publications (one under revision), two of which as a first author, with a focus on wind turbine and wind farm performance assessment and on prediction of complex atmospheric flows. Lead developer of a family of dedicated CFD codes for atmospheric boundary layer and flow modelling in complex terrain (Ventos/2D, Ventos/2 and Ventos/M), using state-of-the-art techniques for modelling of wind turbine, canopy and atmospheric stratification. Publications and computer code development occurred under the collaboration with major wind energy companies (RES and NP) and within FCT (4 projects) and European Commission (2 projects) funded projects, most notably EERA-DTOC, Windscanner.eu and NEWA. Research grant holder with FEUP since 2009, having also joined the institution as an invited assistant professor in early 2019.
