Ricardo Ferraz (Economist, researcher and professor). Obtained his degree and master’s degree in Economics («Specialization in Economics of Growth and Structural Policies»), as well as a postgraduate degree in Social Economics from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (FEUC). Later, he was awarded a PhD in Economic and Social History from the Lisbon School of Economics & Management (ISEG) at the University of Lisbon, and developed two post-doctorates – the first at GHES/CSG/ISEG/University of Lisbon research centre and the second at FEUC. Additionally, he attended various courses – such as The Specialization Course in Financial Auditing and Internal Control at APEU/FEUC, the Fast-Track MBA at IDEFE/ISEG and the Advanced Program in Diplomacy at IEP at Catholic University of Portugal. His professional career began at Ernst & Young (EY) and was followed by engagements in the European Parliament. He later transitioned to the role of economic and public finance advisor within the Portuguese parliament (Assembleia da República). Currently, he is working as a researcher at GHES/CSG/ISEG and RCM2+ research centres, and as a professor at the Lusófona University and the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, overseeing several curricular units across different courses. Notoriously, he wrote two books - Grande Guerra e Guerra Colonial: Custos para os Cofres Portugueses (Preface: Adriano Moreira) and Os Planos de Fomento do Estado Novo: Quantificação e Análise (Preface: Nuno Valério | Postface: Adriano Moreira) – and as a sole author, has published articles in various international scientific journals – European Review of Economic History; Defence and Peace Economics; Journal of Iberian and Latin American Economic History; Cogent Economics & Finance; Investigaciones de Historia Económica; Economies; The Journal of European Economic History, amongst others – as well as book chapters, working papers and technical bulletins. Lastly, he has also written several opinion articles for Portuguese newspapers - Diário Económico, Jornal Económico, ECO, NOVO Semanário and CNN Portugal – and appeared on Portuguese television, most notably on RTP 3 - an information program channel -, analysing current economic topics.
