Sandra Sofia Mota Rodrigues da Silva Aguiar (SR) graduated in Physics in 2002, from Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto. In 2009, she completed her MSc in Quality Control with a specialization in water and food in the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Porto. She concluded her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences ¿ Nanotechnologies Speciality from the same University in 2015. During her research path, SR worked for 3 months in University Federal of Bahia, Brazil. Still in 2015, SR was contemplated with a research grant of the project (NORTE-07-0124-FEDER-000070), in the area of nanomaterials multifunctional, in Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto. In the same year, she was a postdoctoral fellow of the project PTDC/CTM-ENE/2514/2012 in the University of Aveiro, whose work involved the synthesis of nanocrystal superlattices for application in solar cells. From 2016 to 2019, SR was a postdoctoral fellow at the associate laboratory LAQV/REQUIMTE, University of Porto. Her research line focused on the synthesis, characterization and analytical application of QDs. Since May 2019, SR is working as a researcher hired by LAQV/REQUIMTE at FFUP. Her current research interests focus on the immobilization of enzymes on different solid supports for the development of point-of-care diagnostic devices for wound infections. Her scientific research resulted in 27 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, 1 in national journal and 2 book chapters. Additionally, all her research allowed the participation in both national and international conferences with the contribution of 12 oral presentations and 32 posters communication. She was an integrated member of three financed projects. SR was co-supervised of 1 MSc student of Pharmaceutical Sciences on their scientific initiation (course of Project I) and for the tutoring of 5 PhD and 2 MSc foreigner students on a mobility program. SR is also member of post-graduation juries, including Doctorate jury. She gave laboratorial classes of Electricity and Magnetism in the course of Mechanic Engineering of University of Aveiro and has collaborated in the laboratorial classes of the MSc in Quality Control.
