Patrícia Pinto de Pinho completed her 1st cycle degree in Biochemistry in July 2016 at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, and her master's degree in Biotechnology for Health Sciences in February 2019, at the Universidade of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD). Her master's dissertation, titled 'Evaluation of the impact of cryopreservation on spermatic quality,' was conducted at the Laboratory of Genetics andAndrology of the Hospital Centre of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (LGA-CHTMAD). During a 1-year and 9-month internship at the same laboratory, she acquired expertise in sperm analysis routine, cryopreservation, and techniques of cytogenetics/molecular genetics. This experience fueled her passion for semen biotechnology, infertility, and Assisted Reproductive Technologies. Currently, Patrícia is enrolled in the doctoral program in Veterinary Sciences (Branch: Biomedical Sciences) at UTAD (since October 2019). Her research project focuses on developing a new rabbit sperm sexing technique, conducted at the research units 'CITAB' (UTAD, Vila Real, Portugal) and 'iBiMED' (UA, Aveiro, Portugal), and at the LGA-CHTMAD. In her professional pursuits, she has authored 7 papers as the first author and co-authored 3 papers. She has delivered 9 oral presentations, including 6 invited talks, presented 19 posters, and has 8 abstracts published in scientific journals. In the academic year 2022/2023, Patrícia has served as a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) tutor at the University of Aveiro, and served as a member of the organizing committee for the ECIU Challenge/Blended Intensive Programme 'Lifestyle Influence on Reproductive Health. Additionally, she actively contributes to two educational innovation projects financed by the University of Aveiro's funding programs, demonstrating her interest in enhancing students' learning experiences. Moreover, she enrolled in the BioSTART Bioentrepreneurship Program - 2nd Edition (16h), organized by BiotechSTARS, to deepen her understanding of bioentrepreneurship and innovation in the biotechnology industry. Recently, her PhD project won the INOV@UTAD Ideas Competition (2023, under the scope of the UI-CAN Project) and she was selected to participate in the Born from Knowledge (BfK) Immersion program and final event (BfK Ideas Competition 2023), promoted by the Portuguese National Innovation Agency. Recently, she joined the Junior Section of SPB as vice-coordinator, as well as a member of the 'Imaging and Outreach' team.
