Mariana Ferreira completed her Bachelor Degree in Biochemistry in July 2021 at Escola de Ciências, University of Minho and in November 2023 finished her Master Degree in Biotechnology at Escola de Engenharia, University of Minho. In September 2022 she joined the Bacteriophage Biotechnology Group/Azeredo Lab at the Centre of Biological Engineering of University of Minho, where she had participated as Master Student and developed her master's thesis in "Chimeric phages - a new therapeutic approach to target P. aeruginosa infections". From January 2023 to June 2023, she worked on a Research Grant in "PhageShaper - A high-throughput platform to engineer P. aeruginosa phages for infectious disease control", project funding by FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia".
