João Pacheco has a PhD and a MSc in Civil Engineering from IST, University of Lisbon, and is a member of fib and GPBE. João has experience in recycled aggregate concrete mix design, material characterization, and structural behaviour since 2012. His PhD thesis concerned the reliability-based adaptation of Eurocode 2 ULS formulae for the design of recycled aggregate concrete and his MSc dissertation, on the structural behaviour of recycled aggregate concrete, won a National Award by GPBE for the best MSc dissertation in structural concrete (years 2012-2014). João Pacheco is an area coordinator and project manager of the collaborative laboratory c5Lab and is currently coordinating a team of 17 researchers developing 9 research projects concerning the development of sustainable cement, mortar and concrete and is the PI of c5Lab of the ERAMIN3 transnational project RECYCL3D, which is studying the use of fine recycled aggregates for 3D printing of concrete. João has also supported Project Team WG4.T2, of WG4/CEN/TC250 in the development of standard prEN 19101: 2020 - Design of fibre-polymer composites, namely in what concerns Chapter 4: Basis of design and is currently involved in the development of an fib Bulletin for the structural design of recycled aggregate concrete, within scope of activities of fib Commision 4 - "Concrete and concrete technology", Task Group 4.7 - "Structural Applications of Recycled Aggregate Concrete: Properties, Modeling, and Design"
