Sofia Teives Henriques is an Assistant Professor at the University of Porto and an integrated researcher at cefUP . She holds a Ph.D. in Economic History from Lund University (2011), a master's in Economics, Energy, and Environmental Policies from ISEG, and an Economics Degree from ISCTE (2001). Before joining the University of Porto, she conducted postdoctoral research at the Department of Business Economics at the University of Southern Denmark (2012-2014), was a researcher at Lund University (2015-2020), and was a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge (2016), Rachel Carson Center in Munich (2017) and University Paris Diderot (2018). She has published 2 books, 3 book chapters , 15 international peer-reviewed articles . Most of her research is published in top-field journals in Economic & Business History, Sustainability and Energy fields such as Economic History Review, European Review of Economic History, Energy Policy, Energy Economics, Ecological Economics, Energy, Applied Energy and Renewable Energy and Sustainable Reviews among others. She has taught bachelor and master courses on World and Portuguese Economic History, Energy Economics and Policy , and Sustainable Development. She supervised or co-supervised 16 awarded master thesis in economic history, energy, innovation, and sustainability topics. She has participated in 11 internacional projects. Her main interests lie in the intersection between energy and natural resources, technological change, long-term economic growth, and environmental sustainability.
