Vânia Rodrigues (1979) worked as an arts manager and consultant for several cultural organizations in Portugal and internationally before transitioning to a research career. Her professional trajectory is associated with various artistic organisations, from national theatres to independent theatre companies. She continues to participate regularly in initiatives in the fields of arts management and production, cultural policies, strategic planning and transnational cultural cooperation. She holds a PhD in Artistic Studies - Theatre and Performance Studies from the University of Coimbra (2022) and a Master's degree in Cultural Policies and Cultural Management from the City University of London (2009). She is the author of two books, "AS PRODUTORAS - Produção e Gestão Cultural em Portugal. Trajectos Profissionais" (2020) and "Modus Operandi - Produção e Gestão nas Artes Performativas" (2022), the latter forthcoming in an adapted English version by Routledge. She is currently an Invited Assistant Professor, coordinating the Post-Graduate Diploma in Arts Management and Sustainability. She is an Integrated Researcher at CEIS20 - Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Coimbra, where she co-coordinates the Research Group "Artistic Practices: Imagination, Materialities and Transitions". She also co-directs the research platform Modes of Production – Performing Arts in Transition and leads the exploratory project GREENARTS (FCT), musing on the intersections between the regimes of production and creation, as well as the discursive and practical transformations of artistic production in the face of growing demands for social and environmental sustainability. -- É autora Gestora Cultural e Investigadora. Trabalhou como gestora cultural, acompanhando projetos artísticos em Portugal e internacionalmente, antes de se dedicar à investigação. O seu percurso profissional esteve associado a diversas organizações artísticas, de teatros nacionais a companhias de teatro independentes. Continua a participar regularmente em iniciativas nos domínios da gestão e produção cultural, políticas culturais, planeamento estratégico e gestão de projectos de cooperação transnacional. Exerce pontualmente funções como perita independente em concursos nacionais e internacionais de apoio à criação artística, programação e cooperação internacional (Direcção-Geral das Artes/Ministério da Cultura, Archipel, EEAGrants - Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Ágora - Empresa Municipal de Cultura do Porto, entre outros). de 3 livros: “AS PRODUTORAS - Produção e Gestão Cultural em Portugal. Trajectos Profissionais” (2020) e “Modus Operandi – Produção e Gestão nas Artes Performativas” (2022) pela Caleidoscópio e "Creative Production and Management in the Performing Arts. Modus Operandi", pela Routledge, Routledge Advances in Theatre & Performance Studies (2024). Actualmente, é Investigadora Integrada no CEIS20 – Centro de Estudos Interdisciplinares | Universidade de Coimbra onde co-coordena o Grupo de Investigação “Práticas Artísticas: Imaginação, Materialidades e Transições”. Fundou a plataforma de I&D ‘Modes of Production – Performing Arts in Transition’, que cruza o campo dos estudos artísticos com a gestão cultural e as políticas culturais. Lidera, como Investigadora Principal, o projecto exploratório GREENARTS (FCT), dedicado à reflexão acerca das transformações discursivas e práticas da produção artística face às crescentes exigências de sustentabilidade social e ambiental. Nesse âmbito, coordenou o Estudo "Práticas Ecológicas e Sustentáveis nas Artes Performativas em Portugal", em parceria com a Direção-Geral das Artes. Concebeu e co-coordena a Pós-Graduação em "Gestão Cultural e Sustentabilidade" na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra.
