Magda Wikesjö is a candidate for a PhD in Economics and Business Sciences from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve (UALG), holds a Master's degree in Marketing Management (2018) from the Faculty of Economics of the UAlg, where she received the award for Best Master's Dissertation in Marketing Management 2018. Magda holds a degree in Landscape Architecture (2006) also from UALG and belongs to the Associação Portuguesa dos Arquitetos Paisagistas. In 2017, she started her activity as an Invited Assistant at the UALG Faculty of Economics, teaches Curricular Units (UCs) in the Marketing area, in the 1st and 2nd cycles of study. She also teaches at the UALG School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism, UCs of marketing applied to tourism. At the UALG Higher School of Education and Communication, Magda teaches the UC of Design Tourism and Culture in the Master in Communication Design for Tourism and Culture. Collaboration with CinTurs - Research Center for Tourism, Sustainability and Wellbeing, began with the evaluation work of the Terras Sem Sombra Festival and then as a Researcher in the Turexperience project. In December 2022, she was accepted as a PhD student member at CinTurs. The candidate's complementary training is reflected in the investment in courses relevant to her activity as a researcher and as a teacher, with emphasis on courses in the area of quantitative and qualitative research methodology, and in the area of innovation in higher education. Her scientific production includes two book chapters published in co-authorship, the first based on her master's thesis and the second as a researcher in the Turexperience project. Magda participates in international conferences, in the organizational and scientific committees, in the oral presentation of communications, in the moderation of parallel sessions (activities referenced in the candidate's CV). As a lecturer in the Masters in Marketing Management, Management and Management of Tourism Organizations, she collaborates in the supervision of master's dissertations and in the juries of public exams as an examiner. Magda also collaborates in curating and organizing seminars, webinars and other events that promote knowledge transfer between academia and non-academic organizations. Her research interests are: consumer behaviour, cultural event experiences, experience measurement, eventscape and event experience in cultural settings, sustainable development, sustainable tourism.
