Rita Negrão completed PhD in Metabolism - Clinic and Experimentation in 2012 by Faculty of Medicine of University of Porto and Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1994 by Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Porto. She is an Assistant Professor at Faculty of Medicine of University of Porto at Biomedicine Department lecturing in the areas of Biochemistry, Metabolism and Nutrition. She also lectures at Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences, of University of Porto and is a member of the Ethics Committees of the Faculty of Medicine and of Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences, at the University of Porto. She is a researcher at ProNutri Group of CINTESIS@RISE with mais foccus on nutrients and non-nutrients effects on metabolism and disease. Author of 37 peer-reviewed publications in international journals and 3 book chapters, principal investigator of one European research project (ERAB), participated in the research team of another 15 research projects, supervisor and co-supervisor of 1 Pós-doc; 6 PhD and 15 Master students, received 10 prize (s) and / or honors. Main areas of interest: metabolism; nutrition; polyphenols; obesity; diabetes; non-nutrients modulators of metabolism.
