Vítor Crista is a dedicated researcher at the Research Group on Intelligent Engineering and Computing for Advanced Innovation and Development (GECAD). He holds a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence Engineering from the Porto School of Engineering (ISEP), where he also earned his Bachelor's degree in Informatics Engineering. Since joining GECAD in 2022, he has been actively involved in research across multiple domains. While he contributed to the FoodFriend project until its completion, he later shifted his focus to his master’s thesis. His research interests include human-computer interaction systems for the elderly, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and gamification. His contributions to the field have resulted in multiple publications. He was awarded the Electronics Journal MDPI Best Paper prize by the Università Degli Studi Dell'Aquila for his first-authored article, "A Hybrid Model to Classify Physical Activity Profiles," presented at PAAMS 2022. More recently, he received the Systems Journal MDPI Best Paper Second Award from the University of Salamanca for his first-authored article, "Design of a Proactive System to Promote Healthy Behaviors in the Elderly Population," presented at PAAMS 2024.
