Cândida Sofia Trindade graduated in Biotechnological Engineering in 2009, and defended a Master thesis in "Avaliação da expressão de genes relacionados com a resistência a Bursaphelenchus xylophilus agente causal da doença da murchidão dos pinheiros PWD em Pinus pinaster Ait e Pinus yunnanensys Franch", in the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa, in 2012. From 2013 to 2019 Cândida Sofia had several consecutive fellowships focused on wood anatomy and molecular biology in different Pinus species. Has also participated in breeding programs in blackberries and obtaining hybrids in Quercus suber. Currently, is Superior Technician at the INIAV´s Histology Laboratory and PhD student on Agricultural and Forestry Research at Universidade de Santiago de Compostela.
