Maria João Fernandes Martins

I am a biologist with a PhD in ecology and research interests in paleobiology, ecosystems dynamics and evolution. My main working system are ostracods - small aquatic crustaceans. My research topics reflect my multidisciplinary background: sexual selection and reproductive strategies as drivers of evolution; ecology and taxonomy of living and fossil Ostracoda; paleoenvironmental reconstruction; how humans interact with ecosystem change.
