My research is focused on reconstructing the alpine environments and the associated climate variability during the Late Pleistocene. I reconstruct glacial and post-glacial evolution using geomorphological features, sedimentary records and remote sensing techniques. Moreover, I assess glacial recession using paleo-glacier modelling for each glacial phase. Recently, I evaluated the evolution of permafrost and periglacial environments based on geomorphological features in the Central Pyrenees. I defended the PhD thesis Deglaciation chronology and post-glacial environmental evolution in the Upper Garonne Valley, Central Pyrenees, by March 2027. I have constrained the timing of stabilisation of the glacial and periglacial landforms based on cosmic-ray exposure methods (10Be). Besides the Pyrenees, I have also carried out fieldwork in other cold areas, such as in the Alps (Evolène and Morteratsch), Cantabrian Mountains (Picos de Europa), Central Iberian range (Serra da Estrela), and South Shetland Islands (Antarctic Maritime). Recently, I have a PostDoc fellowship in Jena (Germany) to reconstruct the geomorphological evolution of the Drakensberg Mountains, Southern Africa.
