Marília Barandas is a Senior Scientist at the Intelligent Systems research group at Fraunhofer AICOS. She studied Biomedical Engineering and completed her MSc in 2013 and her PhD in 2023 at the NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA). She has also been an Invited Assistant in the Physics Department at FCT NOVA since 2020. Before joining AICOS, she was an Assistant Lecturer in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at FCT NOVA and was a Research Engineer with the Computational Intelligence Research Group at the Centre of Technology and Systems. Her research interests include knowledge extraction, machine learning, uncertainty quantification, and explainable artificial intelligence.
