António Aguiar is a proactive and highly motivated chemist with a PhD in Chemistry (Materials Chemistry PhD program - specialization in macromolecular chemistry) from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology at the University of Coimbra. He is a researcher at Centro de Recursos Naturais e Ambiente (CERENA) and an Invited Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon. From his past ventures, he had the opportunity to work in varied environments and projects that provided him versatility, an open mindset, and goal orientation. He has accumulated experience across multiple scientific domains and has been participating in collaborative projects between academia and industry. His main contributions are included in 21 scientific articles (402 citations; h-index 12) and several communications in scientific conferences. He has also supervised/co-supervised 1 PhD student and 3 MSc students, served as jury member in 4 academic defenses, and is regularly invited to review journal articles. Additionally, he frequently participates in scientific outreach events. His main research interests include microencapsulation techniques, materials chemistry, organic synthesis, polymers, biodegradable materials, and molecular electronics.
