Teresa Bento de Carvalho holds a BSc in Biology from Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade Do Porto (2019) and a MSc in Applied Microbiology from Escola Superior de Biotecnologia - Universidade Católica Portuguesa (2021). Master thesis was focused on the characterisation of a novel antimicrobial surface coating having acquired skills in microbiology techniques, more specifically in antimicrobial technologies, European standard testing protocols, pathogen characterization, antibiotic susceptibility profiles as well as cell culture techniques and biostatistics and data analysis tools. She had 3 research grants, both of them working with the development of optimised formulations to reduce synthetic preservatives (2021-2023). She has 6 published scientific papers, 2 book chapters and 1 encyclopedia entry, 8 poster presentations in both national and international conferences and one oral presentation in a national conference. She is currently a PhD student at Escola Superior de Biotecnologia.
