Vanessa T. Almeida completed her Bachelor degree in Applied Chemistry in 2015 with a major in Biotechnology at the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. In the last year of her Bachelor degree, she participated in ERASMUS + program, having studied at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. In 2017, she completed her Master degree in Biochemistry at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, with a dissertation in the field of Structural Biology. She worked, for several months, as Quality Systems Technician at Hikma Farmacêuticas, Portugal, in 2018. In the same year, she returned to academic research, at the Membrane Protein Crystallography Laboratory at Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica (ITQB NOVA). During October 2019, Vanessa was a researcher visitor at the Biotechnology Department of Szegedi Tudomanyegyetem, Hungary. In 2021 she became a PhD student in the Membrane Protein Crystallography Laboratory at ITQB NOVA. As a result of her work as a researcher, Vanessa published an ACS Chemical Biology article and a Processes article, both as a first-author, presented two posters (one in Portugal and the other in Spain) and made an oral presentation.
