Ângela Inácio, concluiu o Doutoramento em Biologia em 2005 pelo Universidade de Lisboa. Durante o seu projeto de Doutoramento, desenvolveu o seu trabalho de Investigação no Departamento de Genética da Instituto Nacional de Saúde Dr Ricardo Jorge e na University of Pennsylvania, nos Estados Unidos. Ainda durante esse período (em 2002) integrou (a tempo parcial) o corpo docente da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa, na altura como Assistente Convidada, posição que se manteve até 2005. Após concluir o Doutoramento, a sua colaboração com a Faculdade de Medicina, manteve-se a tempo parcial, mas alterou para Professora Auxiliar Convidada, posição que mantém até hoje. Após o Doutoramento fez um Pós -Doutoramento na Departamento de Genética do Instituto Nacional de Saúde Dr. Ricardo Jorge (2005-2008). Seguiu-se uma posição de Investigador Ciência (2009-2013) na Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa. Atualmente é Investigadora no Instituto de Investigação Científica Bento da Rocha Cabral. As suas áreas de Investigação focam-se na genética, expressão génica e epigenética.
