Tatiana Pereira has a bachelor's and a master's degree in speech and language therapy from the School of Health Sciences of the University of Aveiro. She specialises in language and communication disorders in children and has a PhD in Language Sciences from the University of Aveiro. She received a merit scholarship in the 2015/2016 academic year for outstanding academic achievement, a scientific merit award from the Portuguese Association of Speech and Language Therapists for an article published in the Portuguese Journal of Speech and Language Therapy in 2021, as well as a collective honourable mention from the AFID Diferença Foundation in 2023 for her doctoral research project. She also received the best pitch award at the Research Summit (2021 and 2022). She has developed a Pragmatic Intervention Programme for preschool-age children, a pioneer in Portugal with content validated for European Portuguese. As a PhD student fellow, she managed a doctoral research project (fully funded by FCT) to study the effectiveness of this pioneer intervention programme in children with autism spectrum disorder and developmental language disorder, applying it in early childhood educational settings. She has published papers in national and internationally indexed journals and one international book chapter. She has presented several oral communications and posters at national and international conferences and collaborated in courses, and undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees, teaching assessment and intervention in the field of child language.

2023/11/29 - 2023/11/29 CLUTA (Toastmasters Aveiro Club) invited researchers, speech and language therapists, parents, and autistic people to a special session dedicated to autism. The session covered the main characteristics of this condition and some scientific studies being carried out at the University of Aveiro, which aim to meet some of the needs felt by families and the autistic community. Tatiana Pereira participated in this session as a PhD student fellow to give more information about her (at the time) ongoing doctoral research project.
