Cybelle Mendes is a director, animator, and editor of audiovisual works. Mendes has a BA in Fine Arts and Animated Film (UFMG/Brazil) and an MSc in Cinema from the University of Beira Interior, where she is completing a PhD program in Media Arts and where until January 2025 she was a Research Fellow in the MediaTrust.Lab project at LabCom - Comunication and Arts. She is a member of AFECTA - Laboratory for Research and Shared Creation in Cinema and Other Moving Images and also a teaching and research fellow in the Rede Unida project. She teaches and works at the Laboratory of Public Policies, Collective Actions and Health at UFRGS (LAPPACS), specifically in the Life History and Political Action project. Her areas of interest, research and visual creation address movement, encounters, incompatibility, imperfection, spontaneity, women's cinema, solitude, and the recovery of collective and social memory. ******** Realizadora, animadora e montadora de obras audiovisuais, bacharel em Belas Artes em Cinema de Animação (UFMG/Brasil) e MSc. em Cinema pela Universidade da Beira Interior, onde cursa o Doutoramento em Media Artes. Integra o AFECTA - Laboratório de Investigação e Criação Partilhada em Cinema e Outras Imagens em Movimento. Colabora com a equipa de apoio a projetos de pesquisa, ensino e extensão do Laboratório de Políticas Públicas, Ações Coletivas e Saúde da UFRGS(LAPPACS), no projeto História de Vida e Ação Política. Suas áreas de interesse, investigação, pesquisa e criação visual concentram-se no movimento, o encontro e o desencontro, a imperfeição, a espontaneidade, o cinema feminino, a solidão e o resgate da memória coletiva e social.
