Thiago Mendes holds a degree in Geography (2007) from the Fluminense Federal University and a master's degree in Information in Health (2012) from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz). He completed his PhD in Geography at the University of Porto in 2021, with the thesis "The geographies of knowledge in times of epidemics: from the intensification of flows to the concentration of returns". As a member of the Center for Studies in Geography and Spatial Planning at the University of Porto, Thiago has published several articles, books and book sections in several national and international scientific vehicles, having also participated in several projects of regional and national dimension. Currently, he seeks to develop academic research in the area of Economic and Social Geography, with special interest in issues related to knowledge production and innovation networks.
