Ana Borges Cortês completed the bachelor in Biomedical Engineering and the master in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in Neurosciences, at University of Coimbra (UC). She is currently a Researcher in Coimbra Institute for Biomedical Imaging and Translation Research (CIBIT) at Institute for Nuclear Sciences Applied to Health (ICNAS) under the FCT funded project NEUROHYST, currently studying emotion recognition in biological motion. She defended her master thesis "Mechanisms of high-level perceptual decision: a neuroscientific approach"with a classification of 19/20 in 2022. She has three conference abstracts presented, as a first author, in 17th national meeting of Associação Portuguesa de Psicologia Experimental, and in the international conferences, The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) 2023 Annual Meeting (APPE) and Organization of Human Brain Mapping (OHBM) 2023 Annual Meeting. She currently has one article under revision at Journal of Vision.
