Daniela Marques Godinho

DANIELA MARQUES GODINHO received a Ph.D. from Faculdade de Ciências, Universidade de Lisboa (FCUL), Portugal, in July 2022 and an Integrated Master degree in Biomedical Engineering from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal, in October 2016. She is an Invited Assistand Professor at the Physics Departament of FCUL, has a contract as Science Communicator within a EU-funded project, and is a researcher at Instituto de Biofísica e Engenharia Biomédica, FCUL, where she has been working on Microwave Imaging to aid breast cancer diagnosis and staging. She received 6 awards for her scientific work and 3 awards for her academic merit. She is the author of 13 journal papers, 4 of them as first author and 2 as senior author, 22 conference papers and 1 book chapter. She has also secured funding from competitive European initiatives and research projects such as EIT Health and COST Actions (TD1301, BM1309, CA17115) to attend international events covering entrepreneurship, European Training Schools, scientific missions and international conferences. She is part of the team of a 1.5M€ Twinning Project (3BAtwin) and a Marie Sklowdoska Curie Doctoral Network (PROMOTE), and she has been involved in other research projects. She has presented her scientific work in several national meetings. She has supervised 15 research internships (7 ongoing), 7 Master dissertations (3 ongoing) and 2 PhD theses (ongoing), and peer-reviewed for 18 scientific journals and 12 conferences. Her research interests rely on areas such as medical imaging, signal and image processing, and machine learning.
