Prof. Marco Parente (PhD in Mechanical Engineering) is an Associate Professor at DEMec-FEUP, where he also is the Director of the Masters in Mechanical Engineering. Prof Marco Parente has already supervised or co-supervised 6 PhD, related with the application of the finite element method to different biomechanical problems. More recently he has focused his research activities on the application of Machine Learning techniques to different problems, such as the prediction of the stress and strain field during childbirth, or the automatic classification of images from the retina or capsule endoscopy. Marco Parente has already published more than 140 papers in international indexed journals.
