Currently Maria da Glória Esquível is Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior de Agronomia, University of Lisbon. Completed the PhD in 1995 in Engenharia Agronómica, Instituto Superior de Agronomia, and the Master (1988) and Graduation (1982) at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. Her scientific career has always been combined with training covering a wide range of disciplines in the field of Plant Science, Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. She is a member of the Centre Linking Landscape, Environment, Agriculture and Food (LEAF); Effective Members of Colégio Tropical CTROP, University of Lisbon since 2020. Her main research in Biological Science focuses on metabolic engineering, molecular biology, and RubisCO CO2 fixation in microalgae. Develops strategies for biological hydrogen production and lipid allocations as an application of green biofuels principles. As a result of her research has 30 papers authored in refereed journals. Has more than 75 co-authors in her international publications and book chapters. Has 69 volunteered presentations at technical and scientific meetings.
