Filipa Sequeira, PhD in Physical Engineering by University of Aveiro (2020) - Intensity based POF sensors for water quality assessment (SFRH/BD/88899/2012), financed by the Portuguese Foundation for the Science and Technology. Completed the Master in Applied Physics (2008) and Graduation in Teaching of Physics and Chemistry (2005) by the same university. After completing her PhD, Filipa worked as a researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT-Aveiro) in the project AQUATICsens - wAter QUAlity assessment using Fibre OpTICs SENSors, making use of low-cost POF sensors for contaminants detection in water and was co-supervisor of a BSc student, under the same subject. Filipa had a career break of around two years, due to maternity leave and family assistance. Now Filipa works as a researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações in Aveiro. collaborating with Mar2Protect and Alert-PFAs projects, which aim real time monitoring of PFAs with optical fiber based chemical sensors. Her research interests are related with increasing awareness for sustainability using optics and photonics, namely fibre optics sensors for contaminants detection in water.
