Carina Jordão. Works in the field of social sciences/sociology with a focus on gender inequality. She has been studying the phenomenon of inequality between women and men in the labour market, especially in high and very high-income countries, and in science, research and innovation. Her PhD degree was completed on 21 February 2018. Her thesis, entitled 'Inequalities between women and men in the labour market and their measurement: contributions of a new composite indicator for the EU-28 countries' was approved with praise and distinction by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra/CES. Her doctoral work, carried out between 2012 and 2018, was supported by a research grant from the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT). Between 2019 and 2022, she worked as a researcher at the University of Aveiro on an H2020-funded project aimed at implementing Gender Equality Plans in Higher Education and Research Institutions. Carina Jordão was awarded the Maria Lamas Prize for Studies on Women, Gender and Equality (2022) and is currently an Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Aveiro and at the University of Beira Interior, and a researcher at the Centre for Research in Higher Education Policies (CIPES).
