I am a Senior Lecturer in Educational Development in the Department of Learning Enhancement and Development (LEaD) at City St George's, University of London, where I am the joint Programme Director of the MA in Academic Practice. I have more than 20 years of experience in education as a lecturer, researcher, learning technologist and academic developer and have a strong background in digital media education and academic development and a genuine passion for driving innovation in the field. Before moving to the UK, I completed my PhD the University of Minho in 2012. Prior to joining City in 2022, I worked at Imperial College London, Coventry, Bournemouth, Oxford and Ravensbourne. My research is the result of the intersection between digital media, learning and digital society. I look at digital and online education from a media/information literacies perspective. I have been part of different forums to discuss how to promote digital and critical skills. I am a Senior Fellow of HEA/Advance HE and a mentor, empowering colleagues to embed reflective practice and enhance their teaching by celebrating their strengths and achievements. I am also a Fellow of CODE, the Centre for Online and Distance Education, and an External Examiner.
