Daniele Lourinho Dallavecchia holds a PhD in Biomedicine (with a specialization in microbiology) from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto - Portugal, a Master's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro - Brazil and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the Alfredo Pinto School of the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro. He is a visiting researcher and collaborator at the Laboratory of Diptera Studies (Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro) where he works on research on larval therapy and research on natural antimicrobials derived from bioactives from the excretions and secretions of calliphorid dipterans and their action on bacteria and fungi.
