I did my PhD in Social and Organizational Psychology in 2010 (ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and Indiana University). After studying and working in the United States and Germany, I returned to Portugal in 2015 as Principal Investigator at ISPA's William James Research Center. In 2017 I started working as Assistant Professor at the University of Lisbon, where I teach and do research in the following areas: judgment and decision making, social cognition, reasoning, metacognition, and motivated thinking. This research has been published in several top journals (Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, Journal of Consumer Research, Cognition, Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory and Cognition, Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied, Emotion) and presented at several scientific international conferences (including a keynote address at the European Social Cognition Network conference: ESCON). I have supervised several master's and doctoral theses in both Portuguese and foreign institutions. And I have worked to develop the collaboration network between the University of Lisbon and several foreign institutions (in the United States, Universities of Berkeley and Indiana; in Germany, Universities of Cologne and Heidelberg).
