Maria Teresa Ribeiro Matos Fernandes has a PhD in Biology and her research area is Biological Anthropology, in particular the study of past populations, their demographics, patterns of health and disease and the reconstruction of diets and mobility. She is the curator of the Évora Collection of Identified Skeletons, for which she was responsible. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Évora, where he teaches various subjects in undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including, among others, the origin and diversity of human populations, biological profiling methodologies and palaeopathology. He is responsible for the 1st cycle course in Human Biology at the University of Évora and for the master's programme in Bioarchaeology, be starting in 2024. He is a member of the Research Centre for Anthropology and Health.
