Curriculum Vitae
Sílvia Catarina Filipe Henriques
Sílvia F. Henriques has obtained her BSc degree in Biochemistry in 2008 from Faculdade de Ciências, Universidade de Lisboa,
and later in 2010 a Masters degree in Biotechnology by Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa. She then obtained
her PhD degree in Biotechnology and Biosciences in April 2017 from Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa (Funded
by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, contract: SFRH/BD/78058/2011). She has done a first Post-Doc at the Phenotypic Evolution
Group at the Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde (i3s), Universidade do Porto (May 2017 to Aug 2018) and then moved
to a second Post-Doc at the Behavior and Metabolism group at the Champalimaud Foundation where she has been since September
of 2018. She has published 9 articles in peer review journals and has been first author in 5 of these publications journals
and has also contributed to the writing of 1 book chapter. She has received 2 awards: including one recognizing the merit
of her Master's degree. She was also awarded a "Best Poster Award" during the PYFF6 ¿ 6th Conference on physiology of yeast
Filamentous fungi (2016). Her interests span from yeast Physiology and Genetics, and Transcriptional regulation (during PhD)
to Drosophila genetics, host-Microbiome interactions and Acetobacter Genetics (during her Post-Doc studies). She has visited
as scientist different research centres across Europe including the Institute de Genomique Funcionalle de Lyon (2 months)
to learn L. plantarum genetics; the Division of Structural Biology (STRUBI, University of Oxford) where she learned to use
a high-throughput nano-crystallization (2 weeks); and the Jozef Stefan Institute (Ljubljana) where she had the opportunity
to learn about and apply Synthetic Genetic Analysis using an automatized high-throughput system (2 months).
