Romeu Vieira is a PhD, certified EuroGeologist (European Federation of Geologists) & Fellow Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG). Competent Person for the reporting of Mineral Resources of Lithium (hard-rock deposits) and Tungsten according to CRIRSCO international standards. Member of the Panel of Experts on resources and reserves ¿ minerals and their sustainable use of the European Federation of Geologists. Since 2014 acts as a member of the Fiscal Council of the Portuguese Association of Geologists. In September 2020 he was invited to be part as Vice-President for the development of Mineral Deposits of the Board of ASSIMAGRA (Mineral Resources of Portugal), a mining sector association. For the period between 2021 - 2024 he is a nominated as operational member by the Portuguese Government, trough DGEG, for the European Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials. Educational, scientific and professional background based on the research, exploration, evaluation & extraction of geological resources, with more than 15 years experience in Lithium, Tungsten, Tin & Silica in pegmatite, greisen & hydrothermal deposits. Romeu Vieira is currently the Principal Geologist of Portugal Fortescue, a portuguese subsidiary of Fortescue Metals Group, managing exploration projects for lithium and other critical raw-materials worldwide. He is a Researcher at the ICT research centre (Earth Science Institute, University of Porto, Portugal) with R&D on metallic and non-metallic geological resources. Romeu Vieira is also author and co-author of several paper publications concerning the petrogenesis, mineralogy and exploration of rare-element deposits, namely pegmatite, greisen & hydrothermal mineralization's.
