Marine Biologist by the University of La Laguna (Spain) and a Master degree by the University of A Coruña (Spain). I am currently associate researcher in the BioCost research group in the University of A Coruña. My research work is focused on the study of short- and long-term changes in intertidal macroalgae communities and their relationship to increased natural and anthropogenic disturbances at both global and local scales. My current research aimed to investigate the role of extreme events and local estresors in these changes, and their impact on ecosystems services that many seaweeds provide. At the same time, I carry out different scientific dissemination works and collaborates in research studies related to environmental interpretation and education, and their potential as management tools for the conservation of the marine environment in protected areas. I have published 12 papers in journals JCR (9 Q1, 2 Q2 and 1 Q3; first or senior author of 11). Four of these papers were my PhD results (Q1), while the others are the result of several collaborations I have had during my thesis and as a postdoc. Among them, there are the results of the thesis that I co-supervise that derive from my line of research. In the two years that I have been a postdoc, I have not only worked on topics directly related to my line of research, but I have also carried out several works ranging from taxonomy using molecular tools to multidisciplinary ones in collaboration with other research groups and other scientific areas. All of them derived in papers already published (six papers), which are under review (four papers) or in preparation (six papers) that are expected to be published/submitted in 2021. Additionally, I have contributions in more local and dissemination works in non-indexed journals, as well as a contribution to a book. Along with all of this, I also have made 16 contributions to conferences (as main author: three contributed talks, seven posters) I have collaborated as researcher in two projects financed by the Spanish government HIPPOPARQUES and HERBIKELP, but also projects funded by the regional governments (e.g. ED431D 2017/20; ED431B 2018/49; IL-A-0003/16; 2017REC23). Finally, in addition to my scientific production, and the PhD I co-supervise since 2019 that will be defended in 2022, I have also co-supervised four master students and a graduate student since 2016. Most students were involved in the preparation of publications.
